Sincerely- IMHO, buying a "new" transceiver today
is akin to buying a "new" car:  it's a bad idea.
Good used radios, like good used cars, are readily
available and someone else takes the depreciation "hit."
Frankly, when I think of what I can do with thousands
of dollars, the thought of paying that for a single radio
is appalling; even immoral.  But that's just me;
everyone got to do what they think best ;-).
