I will have a landline until I am the last one to have one.
You can't
hang up a teeny little piece of plastic the way you can a
hand set for
a WE model 302! And, no one makes a little plastic thingy
with a real
two note bell ringer.

I will also keep writing checks and mailing them to pay
bills until
they figure out a way to force me to stop. None of that
automated
on-line thievery for me!

You have a 302, the square shaped ones? We actually had
a 200 series in our house here in L.A. when we bought it.
Soon to be replaced with a 500 set.
I also have a POTS line and will keep it as long as
possible. Far more reliable and far better service than the
cell phone although those have become a necessity. Although
the POTS service does not go out due to damage during
earthquakes the phone company usually disables most phones
to prevent the system from being overloaded. Emergency
phones still work, our phones at the TV station all
continued to work because we were considered a vital
service.
