Just got mine hooked back up. We went with a package deal from Time
Warner Cable for TV/Phone/'net via cable. What a nightmare. Crappy
customer service and reliability issues aside, every single power
outage also takes out your phone, since the modem goes belly-up. When
I called the gal at Frontier, she said a lot of folks were moving back
to landlines.

As far as the 6 Land quakes, I ran H&W traffic for one of those in the
late 80s or early 90s. They are indeed regular events out that way
compared to what we get back east. As a result, they are well prepared
to deal with them via amateur radio as well as emergency response. I
suspect they were getting quite a chuckle at the panic portrayed
through the media yesterday.
