Need some help for model ID of a National receiver I found at a yard sale yesterday. It's an older radio, resistors
are the old type with a wrap of wire around each end. Black crinkle rack mount panel. No meter. Five holes in a line
below the tuning dial with the freq range of each band on either side of each hole as follows: 200-400, 1.3-2.8, 2.7-6.4
5.9-14.4 and 13.5-20.0. Bottom row of controls: OFF/B+ off/rec., RF Gain, Phone jack, Band switch, Audio gain, AVC/MVC/CW.
Top row: Tone control, Tuneing (classic National Indexing dial), CW OSC(bfo). Also upper right is a switch I.N.S. ON/OFF
Two tages upper left: contractor Westinghouse elec & mfg. co. and bigger tag: Communications Receiver, made for Department of
Commerce, Bureau of Air Commerce. Type RCE. National Company, inc. Malden, Mass.
Front panel also has the National diamond with NC inside.
I can provide photos direct if needed.
The receiver works but I know it need new caps and resistors. Power supply isfine with no hum.
Need to locate a manual.
Many thanks
Lynn
