The order takers at Mouser recommend that you do NOT use the on-line ordering. This system has to wait for someone to actually read the information and that can result in a day, or more, delay. Then, there are all sorts of problems that can happen if you do not read the information VERY carefully and even then things might no go correctly.
When you use the 800-number, you talk directly to a human. That person will ask you how you want the parts shipped. At that time, you can select from several different methods. Also, just as soon as you finish the order, it is immediately forwarded to the shipping department.
What I do, and I order from Mouser generally a couple of times per month, is to look in the hard copy of the catalog (they will send you one by just requesting it) noting the part numbers. Then I go on-line to check the cost (prices do go up and down on a regular basis) and how many are in stock. Then I call the 800-number and place my order with a human.
Since I am located about 50 miles from their main location, if I get my order called in by 8:00 PM the parts will be delivered the next business day.
If you ask, Mouser will E-Mail you the information about your order. The first will not include the shipping and when it is shipped you will get another E-Mail giving you the total.
Both FedEX and UPS charges have gone up substantially in the past 2-months. This is because of the "fuel surcharge" that they attach to cover the insane increases in the cost of fuel over the past couple of years. You can request U.S. Mail. However, the cost of mailing packages has also gone up recently.

WRT Mouser, yes, they have very reasonable prices and extensive stock, but unless I missed an button during my most recent checkout, their online order site doesn't allow you to find out what shipping is going to cost, you just have to select a method blind. I was pretty shocked that a $40 order weighing less than a pound and containing no special hazardous items cost me $16 to ship to MA via FedEx ground. And I never got any paperwork telling me what I was paying for shipping, I only found it out by looking at my credit card statement. Maybe they were embarrassed to admit it.
Maybe the thing to do is call in the order and discuss shipping options
