[Boatanchors] Simpson MODEL 240 VOM/

Hi Fellows,

Do any of you have a schematic for the Simpson Model 240 VOM? It was also referred to as the "Hammeter".

I bought my first way back in the 40's or 50's and of course in a moment of 'fog' checked line voltage with it in ohms!!!!
There was a sudden PFUUUT! and nil.....Much more recently I ran across another one at the Baton Rouge, La. hamfest
and I bought it. Well, you guessed it! The same thing happened to it. Phuuut! and dead!  A body would think I would learn!

Which resistor is the one that blew?  Any help appreciated. Take care,
