That could be confusing. Here it's more by convention and tradition than
anything. Memory serving, the preferred rode is 6:1 to 8:1 with 5-10' of
chain on the hook (if they're using a real anchor.) I'll be in 25-30
fathoms of water in fairly calm seas with about a 14' boat (power or sail,
whichever I can get) to do some surface snorkeling, photography and
generally relaxing.
A 15-20# Danforth would be a good choice - I'm not really in favor of a
rock, by the way - since I'll only be on the hook for a few hours while I
split my time between being aboard and in the water.

Agreed. It's usually a double minus ungood thing. :-)

Not so much mooring as temporary anchor for fishing, carousing and generally
having fun.
BA content: Part of the planned equipment will be a CW/sideband rig so I can
operate /MM - probably the ammo can rig I've mentioned previously.
