[Boatanchors] Novice Transmitter Thoughts?

I left the Drake 2NT ( and the DX-60 ) out intentionally because it is a 
1967 vintage transmitter, introduced AFTER my T-4X.  I agree with the 
appraisal of Drake quality, but the 2NT is in a different genre.

Of course, home brew was part of the 50s and early 60s, but my personal 
interest is in the commercially offered rigs of those days.  Home brewing of 
vacuum tube gear then was pretty simple given broken TVs were available by 
the truck load for free.  I'm just too lazy to fabricate tube gear from 
scratch these days, there are too many old clunkers available for not too 
much money.

BTW, I'll be QRV most Sunday afternoons on 7050 and Tuesday early mornings 
on 3546.5 with my 723.
