Didn't work!  They specifically asked what was in the box and threatened to open the box.  It seems that way too many people have been abusing media mail these days.

The clerks that I deal with are very friendly and helpful.  But, they do have to adhere to certain regulations.  The clerk was very apologetic for having to make me use parcel post.

Say nothing.  Don't ask; don't give a petty tyrant the opportunity to flex his itty-bitty muscles over you. Just put them in the box and Media-Mail it. Works every time.
