[Boatanchors] The Octoloop

  Hi Gang:
Time to start planning for some 500 kHz and down receiving work this 
winter and of course the antenna will be first.
The Octoloop thought I would make L which he used is 36" I think I will 
use 38" make it so it receives lower frequency's and the 160 meter band 
but I have a problem the one paragraph says use 5 loops of 5 in parallel 
or just use the 50 loops.
Question what is the difference.
Anybody built one and what did you use for loops.
What about a receive amp at the antenna or in the shack?
Any help will be great
Plan on building something to receive down there or use my AN/SRR-11A or K3
