That was one butt-ugly radio, glad you hear you got it cleaned up.
Even if you ended up repainting the cabinet, I'm sure it would've
looked great with Ron's new panel stuck on the front.
TNX Brian for posting Ron's new site address. I had the old address
but when I tried it, no luck. Now Bill can click and look around at
the other goodies.
The HQ-129X is as plentiful it seems as the ubiquitous Hallicrafters
S-40, just a better radio overall. I suspect Ron will continue to have
customers for the panels for years to come, albeit not in the original
'gold rush' numbers he saw when he first offered them back in the 90s.
And as we see, that self-described expert was wrong again awhile back
when he said on here that no one offers reproduction parts for these
old radios. Ron and many, many others deserve our thanks and patronage
for their efforts.
