The world's largest light dimmer is in Littleton, MA. The white building in the center of this Google map:

<http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=12+Oak+Ridge+Rd,+Littleton,+Middlesex,+Massachusetts+01460&ll=42.56977,-71.524773&spn=0.023925,0.026264&t=h&z=15>

is the inverter for the DC power line from Hydro Quebec to the eastern US electrical grid. It's a +/- 450 kV HVDC line carrying up to 2,000 MW.
See <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quebec_%E2%80%93_New_England_Transmission>.

At my location, about two miles from the site, I hear no RFI from the inverter, even at LF. Littleton Electric Light Co.'s power is supplied from that inverter, so there's nothing coming in over our power lines either.

You could drive over to Westford Rd with a portable SW receiver and see if you hear any RFI when you are close by.

Best regards,
-Steve
