Bob touches on a few good points:

1.  BPL or any other broadband noise source, if you haven't had it yet
stay tuned, no matter where you are, in some form it will arrive
eventually.

2.  Vintage gear was not designed to deal with this garbage and is vulnerable.

3.  If you operate AM, you probably operate the most vulnerable to RFI
mode.  Noise is AM and you usually have a very wide passband on your
rx compared to most other ham modes.
