It has a LOT to do with boatanchors and any other Amateur Radio Station,
either a fixed station or a mobile one.
If you simply will not read and learn from the history,

Seven years of it. Recordings, both audio and video, are located in
this reference. FCC verifications of the data and readings on their own
were finally helpful.
The FCC ORDERED them to turn the equipment off PERMANENTLY!
Now it has come out again, with a *little* different twist that is
little more than the Government speak just about 35 miles from gere.
The HF bands were "supposed" to be "notched" out of this Broadband over
Power Lines. This is the next wave, and I can tell you it was a
constant battle to keep the "dedicated" HF segments in use. The
notching worked *UNTIL* the link was interrupted. Then the equipment
opened all the restrictions and "notching and wiped the S-5 through S-7
signals with an S-9 or better digital rasping signal that completely
overwhelmed the Amateur Radio Service.
The continual digital signals took QSOs with receive readings in the S5
to S7 range and wiped them out constantly.
*IF* you think you are immune, then you haven't read or studied this.
It doesn't just apply to overhead distribution systems! A large area of
our city is all underground. They still installed this equipment at
each and every distribution transformer that took the 12,470/7200 to
240/120.
When you wake up and cannot communicate with friends, relatives, and
long acquaintances, do NOT whine!
You have been "INFORMED" and "WARNED".
This is "another" doorway into destroying the 600,000 plus Amateur Radio
Operators hobby, and possible use in an emergency.
It is being done in the "Smart Grid Technology" push that cannot work
without a complete rebuild of the Nations Power Distribution System!
Segments have failed before, and will continue to do so.
A polite suggestion would be too become educated on its history and its
purported future.
Your Boatanchor is absolutely NOT immune!
It is YOUR choice to place one's purportedly educated brain case in the
sand.
