Yes, thats what I will do if I can't get the can out. However, the can would be a great candidate for re-stuffing if I can get it out w/o having to take out parts of the bandswitching coils.... Thanks, Bill

You might consider sneaking individual modern replacements under the  
chassis, leaving the can in place to preserve the above chassis  
appearance.
