[Boatanchors] PARTING OUT

For me it is not a question of greed, but one of practicality. If someone is really willing to pay the asking price plus shipping, I have no problems with that. I am one who definitely prefers to get a rig into the hands of someone who can and wants to restore and use it. But in cases of old and heavy gear, like the Heath transmitters, it SOMETIMES isnt practical because people wont want to pay a high cost to obtain and have it shipped, especially if it is in unknown operational condition.
GRANTED .. there are exceptions. Some will pay whatever it costs, but I think that is the exception rather than the rule.
And if it turns out that no one is interested, then It breaks my heart, but in cases like that, I am left with two options. Leave it sitting in the shack until the day comes (if it ever does) that I might get around to working on it again, or part it out. That, again, is assuming that no buyer can be found.
