[Boatanchors] MOV Choice for 120 VAC and 230 VAC

No, it is not a good idea to install MOV's across the primary. MOV's
have a notoriously high failure rate and the failure mode is usually to
short.
This issue was discussed at length on the AMPS reflector recently.
