His comment about use with Model TK appears to be a typo (he meant JK).  
The TK is listed as a 500 watt LF/MF MCW transmitter from 1922.

The JK is Sonar gear.  Specifically Listening (Receiving), most models in 
the range 14-32 KC.  All but the JK-8 and JK-9 are listed as Obsolete in 
1944.
