Unless you are used to horsing around old rigs or are young be ready
when you pick it up. It will make a Valiant seem on the light side
and you will be glad there are handles on the front panel.
The rx that went to clipperton was the sx 88 if I am not mistaken.
Bob, I did not know you have the 88 and ht-18. You have the whole
setup. good for you! The front panel looks terrific. Two questions:
I did not see the fan in yours. Did you remove it? Noisy? I was
wondering if the rig stays cool enough without the fan if the
shielding (which is probably not that necessary now) is removed. It
also looks like you may have removed the screen over the meter? I was
thinking about doing that.
the paint peeling must be somewhat common. it is peeling on mine too.
Good to know you can get 120 w. out of the 4D32. I'm planning on
sending the front panel to Bob YVA. Skip YOO told me it is one rig
that needs nothing other than restoration..no mods, nothing. Sounds
great. And you have the WARC bands with it. How about that.
