When in the cabinet there are like 144 screws that have to be removed to take loose all of the shields, etc. This was Hallicrafters first "de-TVI" transmitters. I do have one. Nothing spectacular about how the unit tunes, etc. One thing is that the Pi-network can match loads between around 15 ohms to well over 2000 ohms.

Also, the HT-20 can pretty much put out around 100 watts on a continuous basis. That is, you could use it for an AM broadcast station at the high end of the AM broadcast band!

The HT-20 is not absolutely rare, but there definitely were not that many made.

I have been offered an HT-20 that is minus the cabinet and has front paint that's peeling.  As I have never owned/used/seen one before I am clueless as to its value or desireability.  Did I mention it doesn't work?  Some tubes light up but that's about all.  Please tell me what you know, specially if you have ever owned/used one.
