GE Curt,
Sure hope you find the rig. About 3-4 months ago I went on a search for the 723 and, after a few false starts, was able to locate not one........but two. Between them, I was able to garner enough parts to fully restore one working rig. I completely disassembled both rigs, replaced the electrolytics, changed any out of tolerance resistors and then re-assembled the "kit" by following an original set of construction plans. The chassis took a bit of work to clean up, but luckily it wasn't too rusted or pitted. Overspray of the cabinet was all that was needed and the bezel required a complely new coat of paint. The front panel was nice and between the two rigs I was able to come up with nice knobs and a working meter.
Paired it up with the matching 722 VFO (an earlier restoration) and they are stunning. Both the VFO and the 723 work fb.
If you score a rig and find you need a part or two, I may have something here that would help. Let me know.
I'm working to cut some of the rust from my CW skills and plan to pair the rig with the DRAKE 2-A and 2A-Q and get on the air with them. I'm going to set a goal of WAS on the original Novice bands using the rig barefoot.
I restored the EICO 720 and 730 Modulator a couple of years back and one day will add them to the mix. But for now, the little 723 will be the rig of choice.
Good luck with the hunt.

Subject: [Boatanchors] WTB: Eico 723
I'm new to this list, so please excuse if this post isn't appropriate.
As a new novice in 1960, my first transmitter was an Eico 723. Being recently
itten by the nostalgia bug, I'm hoping to own one again. Looking for one in
ood cosmetic and operational condition, but am willing to troubleshoot and
epair one if that is necessary.urt KB5JO
