George Scott was one of Lysco's founders, according to this trial transcript -
"Accordingly, in 1953, Dr. Ginsberg negotiated with Lysco
Manufacturing Company, Hoboken, New Jersey, and asked George Scott,
one of Lysco's founders, to redesign the old Q.O.S. machine to conform
with FCC requirements and to obtain FCC type approval. "

I recently received a copy of a Lysco catalog, dated Jan 1951. After looking over it a few times, nothing much really popped out at me. However, a few days ago I happened to look at it again. The front cover has sketches of an airplane, boat, car and a radio tower/shack, depicting the possible uses of Lysco equipment. In fine print, on each of the sketches, were call letters. They were as follows and the 1959 call book yielded: W2ANW - LYdon; W2NEL - Schmidt; W2DRA - Scott & W2JJR - Lawrence. All were located in Rutherford, NJ. Looks like a good bet that 'Lysco' probably came from their last names. I've been wondering about that for a good while....ain't trivia interesting?
