Alex makes a great point and although I did not come into amateur radio via CB several close ham friends did come through this route. There are probably a lot of list members who spent time on 11 meters after it was lost to ham radio. There is no need to insult "former CB hams" just as some of the "rice box" remarks are not so nice to our JA members. Through the kindness and generosity of one of them I recently acquired a very nice Trio TX-310 transmitter to go with my JR-310. There is some very cool vintage Japanese gear out there!

I must be missing something.  How is the sale of panel meters related to 11m usage?  I saw an e-mail about repurposing an old CB linear amp for 10m service, but thought that was seperate from the panel meters one.

I also don't understand the rabid hatred of CB'ers.  While 11m is chock full of idiots, there are a lot of legit users as well that obey the rules.  My use of a CB back before I got my ticket was one of the things that made me want to be an amateur operator. Legitimate use of the Citizen's Band definitely has its place.

Pffft....  AF4K hereby crawls under a rock
in utter disgrace and fear....

If it's
any consolation, none of these panel meters have been
sold
to our
evil 11 meter cousins so far.  : - )

11 meter amps?
Your selling to free banders and such that illegally occupy the 10 meter
amateur band ?
No shame?
