Typically B&K, Sencore, and the like were designed for use in general
service shops and were just a "good/fairly-good/no-good" reading and
determining internal shorts/leakage.  Actual internal workings and what
segments being tested were of no concern, especially if you are testing them
to see if you could sell a replacement.  They are NOT engineering grading
devices.
