As others have said, an excellent idea. A drop in replacement that
calms down the arcing issue while retaining most of the voltage drop
that SS replacements lack.
And although they don't make the bright blue light of a MV 866, they
do make a nice purple light when doing their thing. Of course, if you
can't see them, it doesn't really matter.
If you move up to a rig with 872s in it, the 4B32 is the equivalent
xenon drop in for it. I've changed out all of my MV rectifiers for
xenon and eliminated all issues related to the former.
