[Boatanchors] Facebook

I have curtailed my FB activities as of the last few weeks. I was spending
entirely too much time on there talking to old HS and college friends, and
obsessively watching their posts. I do really like it for finding old friends
and talking to them, but don't play the games, do the polls, etc.
You're right.....you can spend time online or pursuing your hobby. I need to
spend more time with my hobby, and less time typing on a keyboard. I've got
several mighty fine BAs to restore, and need to dig into them soon, before the
winter is over.
73,
Alex

There's nothing bad in any of it, it's all in how or why you use it.
I've found that simply reading one's Facebook comments tells volumes
about the person.

Precisely. You get to choose how to spend your time communicating: via
the WWW or via the airwaves. I've been a member of Facebook since
2007. It's a very handy tool for finding old friends (social
networking). Beyond that, it offers me nothing that I didn't already
have (including ways to burn time). I have a throw-away email account
associated with it and have never had any issues of privacy through
using it. It works as designed, and as you say - it's whatcha make it.
