You can ask it to go through your address book and let you know who in your
contacts is on Facebook, but I have never seen it randomly send out
invitations or any sort of spam to my mailbox

It works as it is supposed to. I find it to be a great tool for
communicating with my ham friends and other friends. It also has been a
great tool for locating old friends.

I seriously doubt that. Sounds like you have little knowledge as to how it
works since you don't use it.

It sounds like people are confusing you with a person of the same name and
that is where the requests are coming from.
