Hi John...
...and everybody,

When you are searching for those tools one name to look for is "easy
out". I have used those occasionally for a lot of years. I use them as a
last resort. The ones I have and have used will not fit a set screw
recessed inside a knob. I'm sure there are smaller ones but they are all
*TAPERED* and I'm sure they would not get in as deep as the set screw
without hogging out the opening in the knob. If they are not tapered
they will not engage the set screw. By the way...those are used with
something like a T-handle wrench and *NOT* a motorized power tool. (I
can only imagine somebody chucking one of those into a Black & Decker)

I vote for efforts with the PB Blaster. A heated tool might also help if
you can avoid melting the knob.
