Last spring one of the Radio clubs I belong to held a Tailgate Hamfest.
Over the past year the club became to owner of collections of Electronic
Bric-a-Brac from club members who sold there homes to move into small
quarters or from SK's. I was charge with sorting through it all and
putting out what we thought would sell at the club table. But what to do
you with a small( 5 foot by 10 foot Landscaping trailer ) full of what
ever. I hit on an idea, I placed a big sign on the rear tail gate of the
trailer" Trash & Treasure Trailer ", then secured a donation container to
the tailgate. Due the event several announcements were made about the
trailer, Be sure to check out the TRASH & TREASURE TAILER, everything is
FREE, If you would like leave a Fuel Fund Donation " please feel free to
do so. Well it did not take long for the FEEDING FRENZY to start. The
trailer was pick clean in under ten minutes. And the club made $100.00
for the fuel fund. So each spring we now ask all member to donate to the
" TRASH & TREASURE collection. And I have a job for life as one member
said after the event, some time it's not good to so smart.
