[Boatanchors] EH Scott Special

The question was about the Scott Special Communications Receiver, not the
common morale radios. It is a 26 tube unit with 22 controls, incorporating
two separate tuners on a single chassis. One tuner (front end) for 60 MHZ
down to 1500 KHZ and the other is for 1600 KHZ down to 140 KHZ. One could
tune a SW station and a BCB station (one with each tuner) and flip between
them using the wavechange switch.
There were only around a dozen of the "Specials" made with about half a
dozen known to still exist. There is no site with pictures but I can send a
picture if you are interested.
On a related topic, has anyone ever seen, or have, a McMurdo Silver 14-15,
another special version of the Classic Radios (Scott, McMurdo Silver &
Lincoln) made especially for amateurs.

They made a huge number for the US Navy as entertainment/morale radios
during WW2 and then sold them to civilians later. Not especially scarce.
