Al is correct about the selectivity on the SX-111.   I have both the 111 and
101A, and they both have a max selectivity of 5 KHz.

You will have problems receiving wide audio to the point where it's not
pleasant to listen to.  While this will be a noticeable issue under the
given circumstances,  it certainly doesn't preclude one from using the 111
on AM.
