Meters as a be all and end all don't hack it. They do not reflect the
real world. I use mine for first approximations ONLY then work from
there via experimentation or the aforementioned CTGs (charts, tables &
graphs). *Those* I believe without fail.
And what is "characterisation"? Is that using meters to play like the
real world, which they can't do, or does it actually serve some useful
purpose? (The first time I saw the term used here I thought maybe
someone was making cartoons of the components. In some very weird way
explainable only by my med load it made sense at the time.) Does it
have something to offer that CTGs don't?
With that, where does one find a characterometer if one wanted to play
that game? Are they expensive? Do they require a degree in Character
Mechanics or Character Engineering to operate? If the component
fails, is that considered Character Assassination?
Oh, well ... I'm just an ignorant savage with the IQ of a lobotomize
rock so I'll just stick with the CTGs and be done with it.

Michael, WH7HG
