If you are removing it to replace the cord (why else would you) my
proceedure:
(1) Cut the old cord and pull the pieces out of the installed bushing. You
can then easily remove the bushing using only fingers.
(2) When you are ready to install the new cord position it in the bushing
leaving the proper length for connection
(3) Use a hair dryer to heat the new cord in the bushing while compressing
the bushing with long nose pliers by grasping the bushing in the groove that
will be in the chassis wall
(4)The warmed cord with it's new "set" will easily compress enough to allow
the bushing to snap in the chassis. You will need to use the long nose plier
to keep the bushing compressed but by working toward the back or outside
area of the groove you can get the bushing started into the hole in the
chassis
That completes the no mark method of removel and re-installation of the
Heyco bushing.
