[Boatanchors] Transformers and Chokes Source

I need to build a power supply for a VFO - like a VF-1.  I have not done this in years, although I remember how.  My junk drawer is not heavy with transformers and chokes.  No pun intended.  Where do you find these things easily... Ebay?  Antique Electronics?  Suplus Sales of Nebraska?

In our day and age it seems that Common Sense is in short supply.  If you don't have any Common Sense - get some Common Sense and use it.  If you can't find any Common Sense, ask for help from somebody who has some Common Sense.  Is Common Sense divine?
