I take that personally.
I'm a gummint employee; I do computer stuff at a large state gummint
agency in the central MidWest. My employer consistently gets awards for
best cost-benefit ratio on projects, best stretch of asphalt or concrete
road in a particular year, and so on. My division was being considered
for outsourcing to EDS, IBM, and several other large outsourcers. They
came in, and each decided that we were doing things more efficiently,
with better cost-benefit ratio, and with overall lower costs than they
could. Several other agencies had their computer operations outsourced.
We _still_ run our own, and we're damn frugal about it.
Morals to the story:
1) Don't tar everyone with the same brush; and
2) Mind who you slander; you and he may be subscribed to the same
list.
