[Boatanchors] Drake 2B RX Question

Hello,

I just got a Drake 2B off of EBay and have it fired up on my workbench.  First time I am fooling around with a Drake.  The questions I have is that there is no signals on 40 meters.  I get nice signals on 80 meters....both CW and SSB.  40 meters does not even peak up on the pre-selector.  On 20, I do get a peak in noise, but there are not signals up there.  I get no peak on 15 or 10 meters.  Seems to me the Xtal oscillator might not be going or I do not know how to operate the RX.

The unit is real stable from the get go.  Been listening to a net on 75 meters and there has been no drift at all.

The Xtals are a little confusing so any enlightenment one might have would be helpful

It does have the standard 3 Xtals in 40 20 and the middle 10 slot.  It does have a Xtal in the "E" slot, but I have not figure out what that one is yet.  Late in the day.

Could I have a bum 40 meter Xtal?  If so, where do I get another?  Or, can I unseat it and seat it again?  Clean the contacts of the band switch?
