Hello Bob,
What is the DC Resistance of your 12 volt relay and the part number of the relay?
I believe that you could use your relay with the addition of an appropriate series dropping
resistor. This resistor could be soldered to the inside connector pin of the DX-100 and would not upset the value of the transmitter, as it would be simple to restore to original.
This is just one idea that quickly comes to mind .
