I use paper from a "Big Chief" tablet which is very similar to newsprint and rubber cement to repair holes and tears in speakers. That works very well.

I noticed a tear in my Halli R48 speaker. Can someone recommend a place that re-cones that won't break the bank. I could easily replace the speaker with an after-market job but the original is stamped with the hallicrafter logo. Thanks in advance.
If it is just a tear and there isn't a large chunk missing, why not do a simple repair yourself. All you need is a bit of paper towel and some glue. I've done it several times with excellent results and saved a bundle of money at the same time. If you are fussy, you can use ink or spray paint to color the paper patch. An even better patch can be made from the cone of a junker speaker.
