[Boatanchors] On/Off rotary switch

Hi Barrie,

Some on-off switches that are rotary can be turned either way from
whichever condition they are in to go to the other condition, thus you
could continuously turn them clockwise to go from off to on and then
again back to off. Counterclockwise would have exactly the same effect.
A rotary switch with one pole and an even number of positions can be
wired to achieve the same thing and might fit in the space. The contacts
would have to carry the current. You would wire the line to the common
terminal and then wire the load to every other contact around the
switch. This might be a solution if you can't find an exact replacement.
An odd number of positions will give you either two adjacent on's or two
adjacent off's. Another choice is to limit a new rotary switch's
rotation to just two positions.
