G'day all.... recent comment on HF high power finals has me asking what do
people use for 1 kW dummy loads--- without going the commercial, ready made
way.
Having a 1KW HF tx on the way, tuning up needs a load,-- I do have a
reference in the Radio Handbook Eleventh Edn, page 383.-- Water conduction
dummy load can be made for 1kW--- the recipe is 5 Gallons of water for 1kW
with pieces of #10 copper wire inserted.
Capacitive reactance may be tuned out using the antenna tuner.
Any input and empirical evidence of what and how to absorb up to a kW for
short periods with 75 ohm impedance welcomed.
Any suggestions?
Tks
