The S-9/SX-9 was produced in early 1936 following the late 1935 production
release of the metal tubes allowing RCA and GE radios to hit the market
first for the 1935 Christmas season.
There were also early and late versions with noticable differences. I have a
late model and see both on Ebay fairly often. Its certainly less scarce than
several earlier and later models. The same basic design continued right into
the 50's.
