I wouldnt use DeOxit it or switch cleaner unless you want a conductive path
between turns.
I used a sharpenable pencil/pen eraser on my Viking I & II.
If the ceramic is coated with grime then use a toothbrush with Windex or
other ammonia based liquid. Rinse with clean water, dry with towel as much
as possible and let air or blow dry the rest.
