Sometimes it is interesting to hear those using digital readouts arguing as to which one IS on the "correct" frequency. Often none of the stations are because they forget that the reference oscillators in their transceivers do drift. For "grins" I have checked the frequency using one of my service monitors and none of the stations are anywhere near close to the "exact" frequency indicated on their digital "readouts".
I did purchase one of the AADE kits for my Collins 75S-3A for use especially for 40 meter SSB "split" when working DX. You do have to be really close to the frequency that the DX station calls out in order to work them. I use the 75S-3A to control my 32S-3 transmitter and use a separate 75S-1 to listen to the DX station's frequency.
Also, the mentality that comes from the 47 CFR Part 95 Subpart D ("CB") service is that you "must" operate on a frequency that ends in either 5 or 0 in the kHz range. I have heard persons answer a station that is not on either a 5 or 0 and tell them that the calling station is "off frequency"!

I haven't noticed where there are any regulations that require 10 ^-9 frequency measurements.
Not even 5 MHz "channels". Never should have allowed "digital readouts" on ham gear! :-)
Remember when all we had to obsess over was whether the SWR was 1.01 or 1.0125:1 !?!?
