Oh, good. I love my old LM (LMs - several of them) and would hate to
have to part with it due to some reg that snuck in without notice.
Something like 1KCs drift on warmup at the top end of the range (20
MCs) which settles down to a range of some 200-250 cycles around the
center frequency seems decent enough to me. This is well within spec
for the design and for current FCC regs so where's da beef?
Carl mentioned using his old HRO. I have a BC-348 and a couple other
black wrinkle & green pieces and they seem to get along quite well
with current practices desite not being digital dogs themselves. What
about the ART-13? It's a popular BA but does it provide the type of
frequency control implied by the use of a GPS signal (cesium clock?)
for a reference or is my LM adequate? Come to think of it, do any
other boatanchors?
