Hi Bill... and others,
A water solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is very effective
at removing stains. But... it's a slow process. You may have to soak
the parts for several days. And you might have to be careful about the
lettering. On the other hand baking soda is dirt cheap. Baking soda is
not the least bit obnoxious. If you spill it on your kitchen counter
your xyl will not come after you in anger. It won't emit foul odors
nor make you dizzy (high?). It is not known to cause cancer, etc.
