[Boatanchors] Removing knob with steel set screw

Hi Ian,
Another possibility -- since the setscrew has scored the shaft, take a
longer setscrew and grind the end to a flat, removing the cupped portion.
You'll have to do this with a cup of water and quench the screw regularly
during the grinding to keep it's temper. Then insert the new flattened
screw in the knob fairly tightly and try to burnish the scored edges down,
by turning the knob and holding the shaft, or against a stop if that's
possible. Work the knob, with flattened screw, along the length of the
shaft in the proper area as you turn it.
    Good luck, it does work.
