Just an anecdote: At our last club meeting the program was entitled "GOTA", 
for "Get On The Air"

Two observations... 

We set up an HF station and showed all the new hams how to do it properly, 
then demonstrated how to make a contact and gave the new hams a chance 
for some hands on. So far, so good.. BUT:

The other half of the meeting was "Who's having trouble programming their 
radios?" which elicited responses from many of the "old timers". So all the 
"newbies" lent a hand programming the radios for all the "oldies".

And so it should be.

Next month is "Homebrew Nite" which is the most attended meeting of the 
year.
