Dang,  you NYC guys have *ALL* the fun.   Here in Arkansas, all I had  
to do was to ride my old barefooted mule 100 miles through the Ozarks  
to Little Rock to take the test.  :-)

BTW, a friend of mine here in Arkansas (now SK) told me that back in  
the 1930s, his  ham CW  test was administered by a local railroad  
telegrapher using a bicycle horn to send the code.
