May be true, but my wife and I have been using a 551D for over 20 years and
have gotten
very good signal reports and never had a complaint. Only get on when band
is open but
really enjoy the rig. Meter lamps keep burning out, big deal.
Biggest problem we have is when get a power "bump" the power supply goes
into a reset
mode and has be cycled off and on to get it going again. Always been that
way.
