Hi Robert,
This reminds me: has anyone ever found the second volume of the MRC-55
manual or does it exist at all?
BTW the GRC-14 is on my projects list and set up to troubleshoot. The
transmitter was putting out only a few watts, but I think the power supply
cable is intermittent on some wires (I already fixed one broken solder joint
on a pin) and then stopped keying. Ill go over the cable again). At least
both R-808s in the system work fine I put that project aside (in the
triage fashion) to put on the air radios which required less bench time.
To mention the latest finished project on the air is the ATD/ARB combo and
Im getting excellent reports on the ATD. I need an ARB remote tuning dial
and I wish there were loose TUs available for the ATD, as the LF TU is
useless. I could use an extra 3000-9050 KHz TU

Dick,
The MIL list I think you would be referring to is MILSURPLUS, also on
qth.net.
The Navy (or USMC) never to my knowledge did a standalone manual on the
receiver alone. The didn't even do a manual on the AN/GRC-14. Everything
is covered in NAVSHIPS 992911(A), Volumes 1 and 2, on AN/MRC-55.
Since a lot of people have the R-808's and almost no one ever has any of the
rest of the set (except for the Jeep), some years back I scanned the entire
manual and then extracted the receiver information to make a receiver only
manual Price is $30.60 plus shipping. 196 pages, 14 foldouts, heavy
covers, screw post bound.

I picked up this rather heavy receiver at a swap meet today. Is there any
place I can get a TM manual (or whatever the Navy calls them).
The only thing Google found that described it was written in Italian !!
Where would I find the corresponding MIL List ? I probably should ask
over there.
